For my first 3D modeling project, I aimed to create a surrealistic house with unusual doors and different perspectives. Set at night to better appreciate the contrast of colors and structures, this project explores the blend of surreal design and unique architectural elements, creating an ethereal and dreamlike atmosphere.

I began by creating the cylindrical shape of the house, ensuring clean and smooth surfaces, and including circular windows, to give the house an open yet mysterious feel.
On top of the house, I modeled a small deck with a circular platform that moves up and down. Beneath the deck, I added a lifebuoy and a staircase with a metallic railing, enhancing the surrealistic vibe.
Placing the house in the middle of a body of water added to the surreal atmosphere, making the structure appear isolated and dreamlike.

Using Cinema 4D, I textured the house with materials that reflect its surreal and night-time setting. The textures were chosen to enhance the mysterious and ethereal qualities of the design and show a good contrast between dark and light, focusing on reflective and metallic finishes for the railing and platform, and more subdued textures for the cylindrical structure and windows.

I chose a strategic placement of lights to highlight the house's singular architectural features and enhance the contrast between the colors and structures. Then, I used some specific rendering settings in Cinema 4D to capture high-quality images that showcased the textures, lighting, and overall surrealistic feel. Here, some footages:
In post-production, I used Adobe After Effects to refine the color balance, add some visual effects and music, which is always important to create a good atmosphere.
This project taught me valuable lessons about 3D modeling and the creative process. It was an insightful experience that improved my skills in texturing, lighting, and creating surrealistic designs.
